Sindh Resilience Project (SRP)

The Sindh Irrigation Department (SID), Government of Sindh implementing the [Sindh Resilience Project] funded by The World Bank for institutional strengthening of the Irrigation department. The project would assist the department in handling flood situations more efficiently and ensure preparedness measures before each flood season. It would also assist in reliable flood hazard and vulnerability assessments. Efficient flood control and river management can be achieved by conducting detailed development of flood models, river morphology models, (using both satellite images and numerical models) integrated with real-time discharge and water level data of the Indus river in Sindh province, for this purpose this Decision Support System (DSS) is developed with two main functions:

(1) efficient planning of the water resources and ,
(2) real-time operation and management for river monitoring.
